Readers on BookBrowse and Amazon Rave about Stash by David Klein

Do you like this story?

Gwen Raine is a woman you will instantly recognize: an attractive, thirtyish stay-at-home mom who lives in the kind of tranquil suburban community where the wives spend their days ferrying the kids to and from school and music lessons and nature camps and where the husbands work long, grueling hours at stressful white-collar jobs in order to maintain the upscale standard of living to which the whole family has become all-too-accustomed. It’s a milieu in which everything seems to be right—yet so much can go wrong.

Your life can change in the blink of an eye, the book looks like there are many twists and turns. That’s my kind of book, one that won’t let you go.

After reading the excerpt, I’m really excited to read “Stash”! It looks like a great book.

Kimberly B | August 13th, 2010

It’s always great when an author takes the typical and exposes the not-so-ttypical situtaions that really do exist. It makes being human that much more exiciting. I can’t wait to read Stash!

Lee Lotz | August 13th, 2010

David Klein has me hooked at the story’s beginning! I acn’t wait to see how it continues…

Boy, great excerpt. Now I really want to know what’s going on in her lil’ corner of suburbia!!

This book sounds like it will be so real and true to life. I know so many people like this.I love books that from the start you pick them up and they are interesting and you don;t want to put them down. It would be a great one to bring to my book group.A book that all will have something in common and can discuss.

The set up in the first chapter was extremely well done and very intriguing. Surprised me that it was about a drug “deal” as I assumed it would be about an affair. I would like to continue reading this book.

It really reads like the perfect suburban dream. Two kids, and a normal life. Then you get to Jude and you start to wonder is it an affair, or does the title of the book allude to the real goal. It makes me think of the show Weeds.

It really reads as the perfect suburban dream life complete with 2 kids and a happy home. Then you meet Jude and wonder is it an affair or something else possibly alluded to in the title. It very much reminds me of the show Weeds.

Shelley Chavious | August 13th, 2010

Intrigueing–these characters are people that I’d very much like to read more about. The incongruous nature of the main character is very interesting indeed.

Jennifer M. | August 13th, 2010

I love it when Jude offers Gwen a drink and she says, “I’d have to take a nap.” I totally identify! I’m a thirtyish stay-at-home mom too. I’d love to read the rest of this book to see what kind of trouble Gwen is going to get herself into with the contents of that bag!

Nora sounds like she has the perfect suburban life…or does she? Just requested this book from my library, it sounds great!

It appears that Gwen is playing a dangerous game that will put her in a position that she will not want to be in. Would love to see what happens in the rest of the story. Thanks for the opportunity to receive one of these books.

KATHLEEN BIANCHI | August 13th, 2010

It’s too bad I read too much in the review and know what this bag is about. You could think it is a gun. The writing was smooth and easy to read. I liked what I read so far and wanted to go further. The poor mother sounds awfully busy!

Read the excerpt and looking forward to reading more! Thanks for the giveaway!

Debbie B | August 13th, 2010

The excerpt was certainly an interesting read with enough left unknown to make me want to find out more!

I will say this, the excerpt that I just read from “Stash” definitely has you hooked! It will keep you turning the pages to see what is going on with Gwen, after all she seems to have everything but yet she is sneaking to see an old boyfriend to get special favors from him… hmmm wonder what in is that brown bag??? Hope I get to find out. :)

I’d love to go inside the world of this stay-at-home mom!

Tracy Johnson | August 13th, 2010

I would love to read this book. I was drawn in by the fact it is a stay at home mom, and I can relate. But then it takes a turn that is totally different from me. It is well written and gets you involved in the first few pages. Being busy, and not having a lot of time to read, this is important to me. I look forward to seeing where this story goes.

really would be interested in reading more

I liked the fact that it starts with the ordinary, hum-drum life that so many of us lead. After reading the excerpt, it’s left me guessing what will happen next.

This is a book that tells a story that can happen to anyone of us. In the blink of an eye our world can be turned upside down and never will it be “normal” again

sue hieber | August 15th, 2010

it sounds like nora is a lot like my live-in granddaughter–a pain in the rear. lol

Rebecca Booth | August 16th, 2010

“Wow! From the first page, I was hooked by Bill L. tells me this is a great read. When Jude offers Gwen a drink and she says, “I’d have to take a nap.” sounds like me. From the excerpt this book is intriguing.

K Welch | August 16th, 2010

Just goes to show how an amazingly ordinary day can all go wrong. I’m sure she never saw it coming. Can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

I’m very interested to read more. I would love to win it!

What an intriguing tease. I’m a voracious reader and would definitely put down the books I’m reading to finish this one. No doubt my blog readers would love it as well! A slice of life many of us can relate to. Nice work!

What an intriguing excerpt. I’m a voracious reader, but would put down all the books I’m currently reading to finish this one. The slice of life is familiar and tantalizing. No doubt my blog readers would love it as well. Great work!

robin goldstein | August 18th, 2010

robin goldstein | August 18th, 2010

As soon as i read the beginning of Stash i was hooked. Such a well written plot draws you in and keeps you reading without wanting to stop.

Terie karaus | August 19th, 2010

I would like to read more!

This looks like it will be one of those ‘fast paced don’t want to put it down’ type books.

Kris Meyer | August 31st, 2010

The excerpt had me intrigued. The writing is well done allowing me to feel as if the characters feel real and could be living next door. The story line moves smoothly allowing me to understand who the character is. It appears that this will be a story of how most of us take for granted what we have when it could all change in just minutes. An ordinary life that may just be becoming a bit boring so a risk is taken to spice it up. And that risk may destroy everything that was thought to be expected from life. How well do we know our friends or ourselves.

That excerpt left me wanting to read more!

Joanie Lippincott | September 3rd, 2010
